How it works
Every tool currently published on Fast File Convert runs inside your browser using standard web APIs and WebAssembly. Your file is read from disk by the page, processed in memory, and written back out as a download.
Four steps
- 1Pick a toolBrowse the catalogue by category, or search for a format such as PDF, WebP or ZIP.
- 2Add your fileDrag files into the upload area or use the browse button. The tool shows which formats it accepts.
- 3Set the optionsSome tools expose controls such as quality, dimensions, rotation or a page range. Defaults are sensible if you skip them.
- 4Convert and downloadProgress is shown while the file is processed, then each result appears with its own download button.
What happens to your files
Nothing is uploaded. Because processing happens locally, there is no server copy to store or delete, and the file is discarded from browser memory as soon as you leave or refresh the page. If a tool that needs server-side processing is added in future, its page will say so explicitly before you upload anything.
Current limits
- Files up to 100 MB, with the practical ceiling set by your device memory.
- Conversions that require heavy media processing — video, audio and OCR — are not yet available.
- Office conversion supports the modern DOCX and XLSX formats, not the legacy DOC and XLS files.
