How Fast File Convert works

Fast File Convert is a browser-based workshop for everyday file jobs. Instead of uploading a document to a server, waiting in a queue and hoping it is deleted afterwards, the conversion runs inside the page you are already looking at. The four steps below are the same for every tool on the site.

  1. 1. Pick the tool you need

Search the catalogue from the box above or browse by category. Every tool has its own page explaining what it accepts, what it produces and the limits that apply, so you know what will happen before you add a file.

  2. 2. Add your file

Drag a file onto the drop area or select it from your device. The file is loaded straight into the browser tab — you can watch the network panel and see that no upload request is made.

  3. 3. Set the options

Depending on the tool you can choose output format, quality, dimensions, page ranges or rotation. Sensible defaults are pre-selected, so you can skip this step whenever you just need a quick conversion.

  4. 4. Convert and download

Press convert and the work happens on your own processor. The progress bar reflects real work, not a fake queue, and the finished file is offered as a normal browser download the moment it is ready.

Supported file formats and what you can do with them

The catalogue covers the formats people actually exchange every day — documents that must print identically, photos that need to be smaller before they are emailed, and the small utility jobs that usually send you to an unfamiliar website. Every tool below is live today; nothing on this page is a placeholder.

PDF documents

Merge several PDFs into one file, split a document into separate pages, rotate misaligned scans, compress oversized reports and convert pages to images. Page order, text and vector graphics are preserved because the file is rebuilt rather than re-printed.

PDF, DOCX to PDF, XLSX to PDF, JPG/PNG to PDF, PDF to JPG

Images and photos

Convert between the common web and camera formats, resize by pixel dimensions or percentage, crop, rotate, flip and compress with a quality slider so you can trade file size against sharpness before you download.

JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG, ICO

Office documents

Turn Word and Excel files into clean PDFs for sharing, printing or archiving. Layout, tables and fonts are rendered in the browser, so a confidential contract or payroll sheet never travels over the network.

DOCX, XLSX, TXT, CSV

Audio and video

Media tooling is the next area we are building. Planned tools cover format conversion and trimming for the common consumer codecs; they will be published on the tools page as soon as they run reliably in the browser, rather than shipped as empty pages.

MP3, WAV, MP4, WebM (in development)

Archives and utilities

Create and unpack ZIP archives, generate QR codes from links or text, read a QR code from an image, and encode or decode Base64 data — small everyday jobs that usually mean pasting sensitive data into a random website.

ZIP, QR (PNG), Base64, plain text

Any device, no install

The whole site is a responsive web app. The same tools work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, with no extension, desktop app or plugin to install and keep updated.
