PNG to JPG
PNG to JPG re-encodes images with JPG compression, which usually cuts file size dramatically for photographs and screenshots. Transparency is not supported by JPG, so transparent areas are filled.

Why use PNG to JPG?
Images arrive in whichever format the camera, phone or app happened to produce, and that is rarely the format you need next. Converting and resizing lets you meet an upload limit, strip a format a website refuses, keep a transparent background where it matters, or cut a photo from several megabytes down to something an email will accept — without losing the original, which stays untouched on your device.

Your privacy
This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The file you select is read into your device's memory, converted there and offered back as a download — it is never uploaded to our servers. Closing or reloading the page clears it. If you are signed in, we store only the tool name, the number of files and their total size so you can see your own activity history; the file contents are never sent.
Tips for the best result
- Start from the highest-quality original you have; converting an already-compressed file twice loses detail.
- If you need transparency, keep the output in PNG or WebP — JPG cannot store an alpha channel.
- When resizing for the web, set the width you actually display at rather than shrinking a huge image in CSS.
- Compress last, after cropping and resizing, so you are not re-encoding the same pixels repeatedly.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparency?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent regions are rendered against a solid background.
Which quality setting should I use?
80% is usually indistinguishable from the original for photos. Text-heavy screenshots look better at 90% or above, or keep them as PNG.
Is PNG to JPG free?
Yes. Every tool on Fast File Convert is free to use, with no account and no daily limit.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device and nothing is uploaded to our servers.
